GLICODE turns every packet of Pocky, Bisco and Almond Peak into a bite-sized coding lesson. By laying out candy and biscuits in the right order, we're using Japanese kids' favourite snacks (and image recognition) to teach algorithmic thinking in a fun and engaging way. People can control Glico's 'Smile' mascot HUG HUG as he makes his away around an imaginary universe, trying to bring smiles to kids' faces. You will need to learn different coding functions to help him navigate a range of courses and spread happiness to those in need of a smile. [WHAT YOU CAN LEARN] By lining up these snacks, you can learn three basic coding fundamentals: SEQUENCES LOOPS 'IF' STATEMENTS" [EQUIPMENT REQUIRED] 1. GLICODE App 2. Snacks With GLICODE you can play a series of levels using either BISCO, POCKY or ALMOND PEAK. Once you ve finished these you can attempt to complete more advanced levels by combining snacks. GLICO caramel hearts will also unlock special moves on certain levels. 3. Placemat For the best results make sure the snacks are placed on a plain white background. Use a white placemat, paper or plate to place your snacks on. [INSTRUCTIONS] 1. Line up your snacks. Remember not to place your snacks too close together. 2. Capture them. Use your phone s camera to take a picture of your snack sequence from above. 3. Test your sequence. Hit the play button to see your code executed as HUG HUG moves through the course. 4. Eat your delicious code. If you pass the level you can eat your delicious code and get ready for the next challenge. *Be mindful of hygiene - we recommend you wash your hands before playing with your snacks. *Please make sure your white placemat is clean. [Adopted by school lesson program with MIC!] GLICODE was adopted by "Popularization of Programming education for young segment" program supported by Ministory of Internal Affairs and Communications in 2016. Elementary school teachers are using this app as a tool in the classroom to teach the basics of programming to early elementary school kids. *While GLICODE is designed to use POCKY, BISCO, ALMOND PEAK and GLICO caramel, some variations of these products might not work on the app. *Be mindful of hygiene and make sure to put snacks on food-safe materials such as plates or kitchen paper. *Use a flat white placemat, paper or plate to place your snacks on. You might not be able to read snacks properly if you use patterned or drak background. *Please pay attention to hygiene when you use GLICODE. Please make sure to keep your smartphones and tablets clean by wiping the devices by clean wet towel after use. *Please avoid direct daylight when you use GLICODE. The app might not be able to read snacks properly under the sunlight due to shadows. *Please make sure to check the allergy information before enjoying GLICODE.
